THIS.MEANS.THAT.,

the studio established by Tunchanok Yavilas (Communication Designer) and Panjapol Kulpapangkorn (Contemporary Jewellery Artist), crafts a practice where contemporary objects function as character. Finding room to play and allow for even familiar articles to tell new stories, every context becomes a unique potential setting for narratives to unfold through collaboration with Thai artists and craftsmen where the thinking process and technical skills come together and result in the creation of remarkable works of art.

"WILL YOU MARRY ME AGAIN ?" | 2017

This project is created for "VOVEO" : Promise objects for everyday use curated by Kevin Murray

we are interested in finding new ways of repairing and reconnecting a relationship by using Thai elements of fixing things from unworkable to workable. We would like to communicate our idea of fixing things in Thailand with the idea of reparing a couple relationship to reflect images of Thai society through a new form and new structure of “Thai Dowry”.

"FEEL LIKE A HOME" | 2017

When we walked through a street in Bangkok, we usually see an unpredictable space created by people who live and work in the area such as a motorcycle taxi and local shopkeepers. They used not only useless materials, ready made objects, found objects but also something unworkable to build up their space and also created a new function of objects, for example a bench, created from a plastic chair. In this collection "Feel Like a Home", we are interested in the idea of Thai-street objects to create a new collection of home decorative objects through a process of re-thinking and re-interpretation in This.means.That's way.
